Sailor Moon R (Uncut subtitled eddition)

Protaganist: Usagi
Antagonist: Fiore & the Kisenian Flower
Theme: Friendship / Lonliness
Running Time: 1 hr.
Rating (1-10): 8

Main Characters

Usagi: The same Odango-atama, Usagi has to travel with her friends to the asteriod heading to earth in order to save Mamoru.
Mamoru: Not so much the hero-figure in this one, he is kidnapped by Fiore, a friend he made as a child.
Fiore: Not really a bad guy, Fiore was taken over by the Kisenian Flower, and now wants to be Mamoru's only friend.

Storyline

Mamoru remembers a young boy he met in the orphanage. He was an alien, but Mamoru looked out for him anyway. His name was Fiore. When Fiore had to leave and return to his home planet, Mamoru gave him a rose. Fiore promised that one day he would bring back Mamoru many flowers in return. This is what got the English version the title "Promise of the Rose".
Several years pass, and Fiore returns to Earth. He grows jealous of all of Mamoru's friends, and accidentally injurres Mamoru in a fight when he was trying to hurt Sailor Moon. So he kidnaps Mamoru and takes him back to the asteroid he had found. The asteroid is slowly being covered with Kisenian flowers, and the plan is that when it hits earth, the flowers will take root everywhere and suck the energy from everyone. It will be a paradise for just Fiore and Mamoru. Can the senshi put a stop to Fiore and the Kisenian flowers before the asteriod hits earth? Go out and rent the moive; it's really worth it.

Sub to Dub

I heard that in the dubbed version of this movie, dialogue was changed to be more fitting for a younger audiance. Also, the theme song was turned into the usual American Sailor Moon theme, and the best song, Moon Revenge, was changed to a dub song. In this case, the Subtitled Uncut version wins hands down against the dub.

Ratings

Language
A couple choice words from Makoto, but it's really nothing to cringe at.

Violence
About as violent as the tv show.

Adult Situations
A close-call to nudity with Usagi when she's on the asteriod, but there isn't anything to freak out about here.
